Pre-Game Report | Winnipeg ICE host Wheat Kings in Saturday showdown in Portage

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg ICE host its only pre-season game of the 2019 schedule against the Brandon Wheat Kings at Stride Place in Portage La Prairie on Saturday night.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.

The ICE are coming off of a 5-0 loss to the Wheaties on Friday. In that game, Ty Thorpe collected two goals while Vincent Iorio tallied three assists.

The ICE had a number of outstanding chances in the game but couldn’t get the puck by Wheat Kings’ goaltenders Ethan Kruger and Connor Ungar. In the end, the ICE outshot the Wheat Kings 35-34.

The ICE conclude its pre-season schedule on the road against the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14.
