ICE announce Training Camp presented by Hilton Garden Inn Winnipeg South prospects roster

The Winnipeg ICE are pleased to announce the first phase of players who will attend Training Camp presented by Hilton Garden Inn Winnipeg South.

32 prospect players will open camp tomorrow (Wednesday, September 1) morning with fitness testing, skills and educational sessions followed by practices and intra squad games.  Prospects camp will feature Ashton Cumby, Brayden Edwards, Ty Fraser, Evan Friesen, Omen Harmacy, Aiden Oiring and Hayden Pakkala.  Veteran players will join in to start Main Camp Friday.  All on ice sessions will take place at the RINK Training Centre concluding with the annual Showcase Game Monday, September 6th.

Training Camp will be closed to the public.  Only  parents / guardians and media will be permitted to attend as approved spectators September 1st – September 5th.  All approved spectators during training camp will adhere to the protocols implemented by the RINK Training Centre at that time.  All WHL Players and Staff will adhere to the WHL Vaccination Policy. In addition, all players and staff from out of province will require proof of full vaccination prior to participating in any team activities to comply with Manitoba Public Health interprovincial travel regulations.

The Jarret Stoll Cup returns, which will be awarded to the most successful team during camp. Follow along on the ICE social media channels for updated scores, standings and more.

Stoll, a two time Stanley Cup Champion with the Los Angeles Kings, was the first player inducted into the ICE Hall of Fame in March of 2019. His WHL career included celebrating two WHL championships (2000, 2002) with the ICE and winning the 2002 Memorial Cup.  Stoll is currently second all-time in ICE points (286) and goals (124).

General Public Is Invited To a FREE Pancake Breakfast and to Attend The ICE Training Camp Showcase Game Presented By Hilton Garden Inn Winnipeg South 

The Training Camp Showcase Game presented by Hilton Garden Inn Winnipeg South will be played Monday, September 6th at 10:30AM.  This game will feature a number of returning players including former 1st and 2nd overall picks from the WHL Prospects Draft Matt Savoie and Conor Geekie.  

Fans who present their proof of full vaccination are welcome to watch the training camp showcase game. Children under 12 years of age will be permitted to attend provided they attend with a fully vaccinated adult from the same household.  Masks will be mandatory for spectators at the Training Camp Showcase Game presented by Hilton Garden Inn Winnipeg South.

Donations to the Winnipeg ICE Education Fund will be accepted at the door upon entry.  All donations go towards the post secondary education of current and former Winnipeg ICE players.  ICE Fans who attend the Training Camp Showcase Game presented by Hilton Garden Inn will be treated to a complimentary pancake breakfast prior to the game starting at 9:30AM.
